ABOUT THE12THMACCA
I re-discovered the wonder of drawing as a way to manage my mental health while working in a stressful role as a manager for a large multinational corporation. After doing one Adult night course, I started drawing and painting whenever I had a spare moment and started carrying a notebook everywhere I went. I like to experiment and try new mediums and methods. My number one love right now is watercolor and ink. I like to express my emotions and memories through art and find the more emotional a piece the more expressive the colours.

EXHIBITIONS
September 2025 Life after Service,
Darwin Visual Arts Association, Exit Gallery
My career in Defence and work with Veterans has inspired me to reflect on my life after service, and the lives of others, especially when that service is part of your identity. This exhibition is my reflection on veteran’s existence after they take off the uniform.
Creating the works for this show, I have enjoyed trying different techniques and tools. A small brayer has become my favourite “brush”. It has allowed me to drop focus from having exact lines and ratio, to just creating with a sense of fun and exploration.
10 x Mixed Media and Acrylic on Canvas
October 2023 We’ve All Gone Mad, Untitled Gallery
Joint exhibition with Clara Mills
Welcoming children and turning 40 has seen in-laws Clara Mills and Robby McKenzie reflect on how inquisitive they are about their worlds. Robby always has a sketch book with him and enjoys exploring acrylics, water colors, ink and pencil, using art to decompress. Clara is a ceramicist who enjoys meeting the natural world with functional form and bold colour. This exhibit is an exploration of the curiosity of old and young, and it’s an ode to our Territory environment.
50 pieces on paper using watercolor and ink.
